Linseed Oil/Alkenet Root Application |

Not for the faint of heart. Here a strong solution of linseed oil and alkenet root is being applied to the stock..not to worry, the color mellows out in a couple days. If not dark enough, a second coat will easily be absorbed.
This stock will be completely finished in linseed oil with the "cobalt drier" added. I "grind down" built up linseed oil with a mix of Sea Fin Teak Oil and rottenstone with a felt pad.
Don't let this set too long, since the cobalt will rapidly oxidize the oil into a hard varnish...maybe 4 hours?? Add three drops of the drier to a "puddle " of linseed oil about 3" in diameter.
